Barnabas Center, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides qualifying residents of Nassau County with assistance during a crisis. This assistance includes food, subsidies that cover rent and utilities, and vouchers to our New to You resale store for clothing and household goods.

This local non-profit organization was founded in 1986 by a group of parishioners at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Fernandina Beach, FL. Barnabas Center is truly a grass-roots community effort. With funding from individuals, churches and civic groups, charitable foundations, and government and local businesses, Barnabas Center is able to carry out its mission: "To provide assistance to individuals and families in need throughout Nassau County."

The Barnabas Center also offers medical and dental services to adult residents of Nassau County. The Barnabas Samaritan Clinic is a free urgent care medical clinic, where uninsured patients can receive prompt care.  The Barnabas Dental Clinic is a low cost clinic which is offered to those who are low income and uninsured.
